INTRODUCTION

Shanti works closely with the clients to create exterior surroundings with natural appeal and unique beauty that are mindful of longevity, sustainability and simplicity of maintenance. She approaches each design with the awareness of the built environment, the surrounding landscape, the natural environment and the clients needs and goals. This results in striking projects that are long lasting with a unique sense of place.

Shanti has extensive knowledge of native ecosystems, sustainable practices, plant knowledge, building and landscaping materials, grading and drainage, and project management. At every opportunity she practices these responsible design principals.

PEOPLE

Shanti Wertz holds a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a Landscape Contractors License (#1055029). Upon graduating Shanti worked at plant nurseries broadening her plant knowledge and began her own Landscape Design Company in 2011. Shanti currently teaches Landscape Design and Computer Aided Drafting at Cabrillo College, and has also taught horticulture and organic gardening classes for ten years.

Shanti was born in the Santa Cruz mountains and grew up with a love for nature and California Ecosystems. She prizes herself for incorporating the surround natural environment in all of her designs and believes that a design that has a strong sense of place will have long lasting beauty. Shanti expertise lies in her plant knowledge of California natives, Mediterranean plants, edible plants and drought tolerant plants. As well as local materials and hardscape materials. She has also worked for many landscape contractors doing their design work and their bidding which allows her to design within a clients budget. Shanti incorporates an artistic and sustainable approach to every design.
